Based in Hopefield in the Western Cape, Hopefield Raised is a young, free-range poultry farm that focuses on delivering top-quality poultry products to its customers, right to their front door.

The farm focuses its marketing efforts mainly on private individuals, butcheries and meat procurers who seek real, free-range, ethically raised chicken.

Our Origins
Chase and Kim McCarthy recognised the opportunity to farm with chickens and acquired a smallholding in 2014, where they began their poultry operation from the ground up.
Having started in the poultry industry with very little experience, we have endured many challenges, which have helped us to grow into the entrepreneurs we are today.
We feel as though we were reborn when we started farming in Hopefield, and we in turn are raising our chickens in Hopefield, hence the name, Hopefield Raised.
Our Future
We plan to provide a greater range of poultry products to our existing clients.
We plan to expand our operation in different areas of the WesternCape.
We want to increase our greener efforts, recycling, waste composting and growing our own feed.
Eventually, we’d like to produce poultry products on a commercial scale, using the same operational practices we currently use.
We plan to expand our feed manufacturing plant and provide nearby farmers with animal feed.
